Hi folks,

Just jotting and catching up on things. Looks like I have finally beaten the flu virus. Pleanty of soup, rest and olive leaf extract seem to have done the job. Am giving my voice a little bit more time to heal, don't want to overdo it yet.

Thanks to all those folks who have bought the new album, much appreciated. Still a few left if anyone wants one. To preview some of the songs just click on the video link. They are only audio tracks but you can get the idea of what sort of music I'm doing of late. Don't forget, to get the best sound, listen to them through a good set of headphones, it brings out the orchestration and suttle voice effects better.

Will be performing at Uranquinty folk festival on October long weekend so will see you there.

Bye for now,

Sleepy

Hi folks,

Just putting some thoughts for the day down. Have been quite ill with a nasty flue virus that has been going around Sydney. Lost my voice for a couple of weeks which was quite devestating at the time. It's coming back now though so should be able to start singing again soon. It was quite scary actually. You tend to appreciate those sorts of things more when you get a scare like that. I should look after my voice better than I have been of late.

Spent the day cleaning up the yard. Things were getting a little overgrown after all that rain. It was good to get outside and do a bit of gardening for a change.

Bye for now,

Sleepy xx

Hi folks,

Just bringing you up to date on the latest happenings.

Had a great time at Nariel Creek Folk Festival. It was good to see old friends again and meet some new ones. There were some great sing a long sessions around the campfires and sites, including my own campsite. Had some good neighbours this year. Rainbow, Ant and Scully, who frequently dropped in for a chat and jam. Anne-Marie and Dawn who were camped next to me and shared lunch and shelter. Also the couple in the blue camper van just up the hill from us who popped in for a chat and a jam a few times. It was really good to meet you all, hope we can catch up again some time.

I was very happy with my performance at the New Years day  concert. There was a good crowd reaction to the songs that I tried out which led to quite a few CD sales. Thanks to all those that bought them, I appreciate your support. It makes the effort that I put into it worthwhile.

Have bought a new (second hand of course) Lite Ace van for travelling to the various Festivals and gigs that are coming up. Have put a bed and some camp cupboards in it. Took it for a trial run down to Numeralla Festival over the Australia day weekend. It was very functional and easy to set up so I guess you'll be seeing more of it in the future.

It was my first time at Numeralla and the audience were very appreciative with a good reaction to my music. Will try and get there again next year. Hope to see you all again.

Bye for now,

Sleepy

Sleepy' Diary 15/12/09

Hi folk's,

Just letting you know that I've added another track to my blog. It's called "Visions of the forest" and is from "The Storyteller" album.

It was written during the time I was living in the upper Coomera valley and was inspired one evening while sitting on the front verandah looking out over the surrounding forest. It was a passtime I often did because I enjoyed the tranquility of the amazing sunsets and the beauty of the forest in which I lived.

I'm just getting ready for my trip to Nariel Creek folk festival. Trying out some of the songs from my new album "The Drifter" and deciding which ones to do at the New years day concert. Have been getting a good reaction to the album and sales are still quite steady.

For those of you who are going to Nariel, I will catch up with then.

Bye for now,

Sleepy.
